After a few post-high school "meandering" years I moved to Providence to attend Rhode Island School of Design. I graduated from the illustration department (with honors, if you're keeping track) in 2002 and returned to Southern California to begin my freelance career. My work has appeared in newspapers, weeklies, magazines and on tee-shirts and theater posters. I write a regular comic call 'Los Angelopolis' for The LA Weekly which took second place at the 2008 AAN Awards (Association of Alternative Newsweeklies.) My first picture book, Owen & Gary, will be published in 2010 by G. P. Putnam's Sons, a division of Penguin Young Readers Group.

I live in Los Angeles and teach art at Crossroads and The Brentwood Art Center. My wife is a teacher, my five year old daughter is a gifted mixed-media artist and my three year old son’s favorite colors are brown and gray. We recently had a third child on Valentine’s Day 2009. Her hobbies include eating and sleeping.
